Hand-Turned Pale Paulownia Wood Bowl

The Oak & Hour decorative bowl reveals concentric growth rings across a wide, shallow hand-turned form. Pale blonde wood shifts through honey, gray-taupe, darker heartwood streaks, and occasional russet knots. A slightly irregular rim preserves the organic character rather than forcing the bowl into a perfectly machined circle.

Paulownia wood forms the bowl, including a small flat turned foot beneath the broad basin. Its diameter is several times the height, emphasizing the low profile. The surface remains bare, matte, and faintly open grained, with no lacquer, stain, or paint. Natural color and knot placement vary from one piece to another. The handmade bowl measures 19 inches long by 19 inches wide by 4.75 inches high.

Set the bowl on a dry, stable surface and lift it by supporting the base rather than the rim. Use it only as a decorative vessel; the bowl is not food safe. Keep liquids, wet foods, and hot objects away from the unfinished wood. Dust with a soft dry cloth or gentle brush. If needed, wipe very lightly and dry immediately so moisture does not settle into the open grain.
