About this piece
The Oak & Hour king platform bed draws a full matte-black rectangle from floor to canopy. Four tall square posts support the open upper frame, while the low headboard is divided into three framed sections with four narrow horizontal slats in each. Plain rails and a low footboard keep the strong outline uncluttered.
The structure measures 80 inches wide by 85 inches long by 79 inches high. Responsibly sourced solid pine forms the primary frame, with warp-resistant MDF used in the headboard. Fourteen pale natural-wood slats span the mattress area above a center support rail, carrying up to 560 pounds without a box spring.
Leave the canopy open for a crisp architectural look or add lightweight fabric and lights suited to the frame. Two people are recommended for the approximately 90-minute assembly, with hardware included. Carefully measure ceiling height, mattress access, doors, stairs, and turns before setup because the completed posts rise to 79 inches.
